Sculptra Aesthetic is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator. It works with your body within the deep dermis, rather than topically, to help revitalize collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume. As the Sculptra Aesthetic PLLA microparticles are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production. Rebuilt collagen strands begin gradually helping to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds

Sculptra lasts up to two years but most clients choose to maintain their results with a single vial treatment once per year.

Sculptra is priced per vial and runs about $800 each. Most clients new to Sculptra will require four vials performed over a series of three facial injection treatments.

Sculptra is commonly injected in the lower face, temples, cheeks, chest, and buttocks.

Each client has different goals, anatomy, and budget. Many new Sculptra clients will need a series of three treatments consisting of four vials in total. This can be discussed in a personalized consultation where we will create a beauty plan together to achieve the look you desire.

You should wait 24 hours before doing any activity that can increase blood flow to the skin to minimize bruising.

Sculptra is not recommended for clients that have a history of keloid formation, hypertrophic scarring, or previous cancer in the treatment areas.

Bruising can be minimized by avoiding anything that can thin the blood 5 days prior to treatment. These things are NSAIDs, vitamin E, fish oils, and alcoholic beverages. Ice can be applied after the treatment to further shorten the lifespan of the bruise.

You should apply ice to the area and avoid rubbing it. You should also avoid NSAID, vitamin E, fish oil or alcoholic beverages for 5 days after your treatment.

Sculptra treatment is about one hour. Some clients prefer to pick up the topical anesthetic prior to apply at home and reduce the time in the office. This can be arranged when scheduling.

After having filler, you should avoid having a facial, massage or laser procedure for 2 weeks. You may apply your normal skincare and make-up. You should avoid NSAIDs, vitamin E, fish oils, and alcoholic beverages for 4 days to decrease your chance of bruising. We also recommend sleeping on your back and avoiding stomach sleeping.

Side effects from any filler injection can include redness, swelling, bruising, bumps under the skin, asymmetry, triggering a cold sore outbreak and possible skin infection. Other side effects that are less common include vascular occlusion and skin necrosis. These side effects can be minimized with injector technique and strict adherence to pre and post-care instructions.

Injections to the mid and lower face may be slightly uncomfortable. It may feel like a bee sting with a slight burning sensation. A topical anesthetic is applied prior to injection to reduce pain. We also mix lidocaine into the Sculptra to reduce pain during and after the treatment.

The injectors at Deja Vu have undergone numerous hands-on training provided by injection specialists and have many years of experience.

Sculptra should be administered by a licensed medical professional that is trained in facial anatomy and injection techniques.

You will need to massage the injection area for five minutes, five times per day, for five days after your treatment. This will prevent lumps from forming and stimulate the most collagen for better-looking results.

We recommend scheduling each session about six weeks apart. We do schedule a follow-up appointment about eight weeks after the last session to assess and take after pictures to see the progress. After that, one vial of Sculptra is recommended per year for maintenance.

We are known for a very natural-looking result and will not make you look overdone. Since Sculptra is stimulating your own collagen production, it is impossible to overdo it and look fake.
