PRP Facials

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a component of your blood that contains growth factors. Growth Factors are chemical signals to your cells to make more collagen, elastin and even hair. It can be applied topically to the skin after microneedling and laser treatments. It can also be injected into the skin and scalp. It will make the skin appear more hydrated, less creepy and refreshed. It will also improve healing times after having a procedure.

Questions?

Read our frequently asked questions below to see if you can find the answer you're looking for!

What is a PRP facial?

PRP uses growth factors in your own blood to stimulate your collagen and elastin. We draw your blood, spin it down, and remove the plasma. The plasma is then applied topically after treatment and or injected into the areas of the face where the skin is thinning, wrinkles or scarred.

What is the cost for a PRP Facial?

PRP can be added to a microneedling or Scarlet RF treatment for $200. The facial injections are $200 as an add on to a PRP facial or $450 as a stand-alone service. Best results are seen with a minimum of four treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart.

Does PRP work?

PRP will work for clients that are ideal candidates. Check out what people are saying at Real Self.

Who is an ideal candidate for PRP?

The ideal candidate will be anyone that wants to improve texture, tone and creepy skin in a more natural way. People with a history of cancer and autoimmune disease should not have PRP treatments.

What are PRP side effects?

The side effects include pain, redness, swelling, and possible infection at the injection site. These are temporary. If redness or drainage starts, please inform the office immediately.

Does PRP facials or injections hurt?

It may feel like a bee sting in certain areas during the treatment. We do use a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort. You may also develop a headache on the day of injection that will resolve. Oral analgesics like Tylenol or Motrin may be taken to minimize discomfort.

Is local anesthesia used for PRP?

We do use a topical anesthetic instead.  The numbing cream is applied to the skin 30-60 minutes before the treatment.

Can PRP stimulate collagen and elastin?

PRP can increase the elasticity, minimize wrinkles and improve the texture of the skin. It can also regrow hair on the scalp and eyebrow area. It will not make you grow hair in areas you do not have hair already.

What should I do before my appointment?

You want to make sure that you significantly increase your water intake on the day of your treatment. The more hydrated you are, the more plasma we will have for your treatment. You should also avoid coloring or perming your hair for 4 days before.  You should also avoid using acid cleansers or retinol for 4 weeks before your treatment.

Is there anything to avoid after my treatment?

We recommend avoiding make-up the day of your treatment. We recommend avoiding coloring, perming, or chemically straightening your hair for 4 days after your treatment. We also recommend that you avoid exercise the day of your treatment.
