Voluma® XC

Schedule Your Free Consultation

As you age, the cheeks may flatten and the skin may begin to sag. This is caused by a natural loss of volume in the cheek area, or what the experts call age-related midface volume loss. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is designed to add volume beneath the skin's surface, which provides lift and contour to the cheek area. Voluma is now FDA approved to improve the chin and jawline making a more chiseled jawline.

Questions?

What is Voluma?

Voluma is a hyaluronic acid filler that is used for upper face volume correction and lifting to restore cheeks and minimize lower face folds.

How much does it cost?

Voluma is priced per 1 ml syringe and costs around $800. Many times more than one syringe is needed for optimal results. We are happy to discuss this with you during your free consultation.

What is Voluma made of?

Voluma is made from hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance that is found in our skin and joints. It naturally will increase the moisture in our skin as well.

How many syringes will I need?

Each client has different goals, anatomy, and budget. Many new Voluma clients will need two or more syringes. This can be discussed in a personalized consultation where we will create a beauty plan together to achieve the look you desire.

What are the side effects?

Side effects from any filler injection can include redness, swelling, bruising, bumps under the skin, asymmetry, triggering a cold sore outbreak and possible skin infection. Other side effects that are less common include vascular occlusion and skin necrosis. These side effects can be minimized with injector technique and strict adherence to pre and post-care instructions.

Can you get Voluma while pregnant?

It is not recommended.

Can you get Voluma while breast feeding?

It is not recommended.

Can you work out after Voluma injections?

You should wait 24 hours before doing any activity that can increase blood flow to the skin to minimize bruising.

What can I do to prevent bruising?

Bruising can be minimized by avoiding anything that can thin the blood 5 days prior to treatment. These things are NSAIDs, vitamin E, fish oils, and alcoholic beverages. Ice can be applied after the treatment to further shorten the lifespan of the bruise.

What should I do if I bruise?

You should apply ice to the area and avoid rubbing it. You should also avoid NSAID, vitamin E, fish oil or alcoholic beverages for 5 days after your treatment.

How long is a Voluma treatment?

A Voluma treatment is about one hour and you will walk out looking younger since it starts working right away. Some clients prefer to pick up the topical anesthetic prior to apply at home and reduce the time in the office. This can be arranged when scheduling.

How long does it last?

Voluma will last up to two years. It is the longest-lasting filler on the market.

Does it hurt?

Injections to the cheek are the least painful of all injection sites. A topical anesthetic is applied prior to injection to reduce pain. Allergan also mixes lidocaine into all the fillers to reduce pain during and after the treatment.

Where can we inject Voluma?

Voluma is FDA approved for cheek correction. It, however, can be used in the chin and jawline but is considered off label.

What kind of training do the injectors have?

The injectors at Deja Vu have undergone numerous hands-on training provided by injection specialists and have many years of experience.

Who can administer Voluma?

Voluma should be administered by a licensed medical professional that is trained in facial anatomy and injection techniques.

Are there any restrictions after my treatment?

After having filler, you should avoid having a facial, massage or laser procedure for 2 weeks. You should avoid rubbing the area but may apply our normal skincare and make-up. You should avoid NSAIDs, vitamin E, fish oils, and alcoholic beverages for 4 days to decrease your chance of bruising. We also recommend sleeping on your back and avoiding stomach sleeping.

Will I need follow up after my Voluma treatment?

We recommend a follow up two weeks after your treatment to ensure a smooth result.

Will my face look overdone or unnatural?

We are known for a very natural-looking result and will not make you look overdone. Our goal is to make people notice but not know what you have done.
