Success Stories

I always look forward to getting my monthly dermaplane at Déjà Vu! The dermaplane helps with my dry skin by taking off all the dead skin cells that hang off my face and it also gets rid of the unwanted peach fuzz, leaving my skin feeling silky soft! Another added bonus is it makes my makeup go on so much smoother! I highly recommend getting this done with a facial or by itself!

Questions?

Read our frequently asked questions below to see if you can find the answer you're looking for!

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning facial treatment is an exfoliation procedure. It requires the use of a sterile surgical scalpel to gently "shave" the skin's surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair (aka peach fuzz).

How long does it take?

This treatment includes a facial cleansing, the dermaplaning, and sunscreen application. It takes about 30 minutes on average.

How long does Dermaplaning last?

Dermaplaning lasts about three to four weeks depending on your rate of hair growth.

Does Dermaplaning last?

Facial dermaplaning looks best for the first two weeks and then the results start to fade. This is a great procedure to do prior to an event or vacation because it will give your face a healthy glow and make your makeup application smoother. The skin will look more hydrated and dewy if you are using quality skincare and makeup during your course of treatment.

What is the average cost of Dermaplaning?

$50-$100 depending on current promotions. This treatment works best before a facial or chemical peel and is a bigger saving's when added to other facial treatments.

What are the side effects of Dermaplaning?

There are minimal side effects and zero downtime. This treatment may cause temporary redness and occasional bleeding. If treating over acne lesions, it may cause a temporary acne flare that will subside. It may also cause sun sensitivity. A broad-spectrum sunscreen is recommended with SPF 30 or higher to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation.

Is Dermaplaning safe?

Dermaplaning is very safe. We use a sterile single-use blade to perform this procedure. This reduces chances of irritation, breakouts, and infection and eliminates the risk of disease transmission.

What is the difference between Dermaplaning and waxing?

Dermaplaning will remove the vellus hair by gently shaving it off at the skin surface. Waxing pulls hair from the follicle which is painful and causes skin irritation.

What are the benefits of Dermaplaning?

You’ll immediately look more radiant with a more even skin tone and texture. All of your peach fuzz will be gone, which is why first-timers say their skin has never felt so soft before.

How often will I need this procedure?

Dermaplaning removes 21 days worth of dead skin cells, so it’s best to allow the skin to complete its rejuvenation cycle before your next treatment. It is best performed at four-week intervals.

Who should administer this treatment?

Dermaplaning should be administered by a licensed provider who specializes in this procedure.
